Institute of Management and Training a Constituent Institute of Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, started in 2009 by Government of Gujarat, is the only university in India. Within 10 years of inception, the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University has become a leading hub and think tank of higher learning. The GFSU offers unique and micro specialized postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes in forensic and allied sciences.
The Institute conducts demand driven professional courses and has a dynamic curriculum, robust and talented pool of faculty members, and state of art infrastructure. It is well known for imparting quality education, active research and also in nurturing students for holistic development – achieved through Students’ Engagement Tools like credit based systems, continuous evaluation, blended learning, active use of MOOCs, , specialization and elective subjects in all the courses, expert lectures, soft skills development, industrial visits, industrial projects, critical thinking training and many more.
Institute of Management and Training (IMT) is established with a solitary aim to create professionals and experts in the field of management, forensic accounting, healthcare management, homeland security, cyber security management etc. The Institute of Management and Training is engaged in conducting academic programmes and imparting need based professional training to the chartered accountants, bankers and other officials working in the field of justice delivery system including police, judiciary, forensic scientists and other government officers from India as well as abroad.
The Institute has been persistent in the task of orienting and training different cadres of government officials, officials of public sector, autonomous institutions, NGOs. etc. with frequently reviewed training needs, giving basic importance on participatory approach and well planned and comprehensive curricula. The Institute of Management and Training imparts training to the senior officers in the cadre of IAS, IES, IRS, IFS, IPS etc. apart from the officers from MEA, MHA, CBI, Indian Postal Services, Custom Department, Indian Railway, Vigilance Department, Directorate of Revenue Intellengce, SPG, and other departments of Central as well as State Government/s in the field of forensic science, crime investigation and justice delivery system.
For the last five years the Institute conducted more than 200 training programmes and trained more than 10000 personnel including 1400 foreign nationals on various aspects of forensic and allied sciences.
