Master degree in Psychology with minimum 55% (50% in case of SC/ST) marks or equivalent. Candidates who are appearing for their final exams are also admissible provisionally under the condition that he or she would successfully graduate with a minimum of 55% pass marks in their final exams.
Admissions will be based on the merits obtained in the Entrance Test and interview conducted by the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University.

Preparation of Merit list: The merit will be calculated as under

Entrance Examination and interview: 100% weightage

Format for Entrance Exams: Questions on different branches of Psychology and research methodology will be asked in the Entrance test. There will be 50 objective type questions of 100 marks, the duration of the test will be 60 minutes. There will be no negative marking.

Reservation of Seats: The seats shall be reserved for the candidate who are origin of Gujarat and falling under the following categories, namely:-

  • Scheduled Caste: 15%
  • Scheduled Tribe: 7%
  • Socially and Educationally Backward Class (OBC/SEBC): 7%

The admission of a student of reserved category on a reserved seat shall be valid subject to the verification of caste certificate by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf. In case the caste certificate is found in valid on verification, he shall not have right to claim his admission on reserved seat and if he has been already granted admission, such admission shall be cancelled.

After granting admission to all the students of reserved categories on reserved seats, the reserved category seats remaining vacant shall be transferred to the unreserved category seats.

Yearly Tuition fee: Rs.1,00,000 + Other University Fees

2. M.Phil. Forensic Psychology 20 (+5 NRI) 2 Years (4 Semesters)

Master degree in Psychology with minimum 55% (50% in case of SC/ST) marks or equivalent. Candidates who are appearing for their final exams are also admissible provisionally under the condition that he or she would successfully graduate with a minimum of 55% pass marks in their final exams.

Admissions will be based on the merits obtained in the Entrance Test conducted by the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University and marks obtained in graduation in ratio of 60:40.

Note: In case the number of applications received is less than twice the number of seats available for the said course, personal interaction and graduation marks will be considered for declaration of final result.

Entrance Examination: 60% weightage

Format for Entrance Exams: General Psychology and General Knowledge questions will be asked in the Entrance test. There will be 50 objective type questions of 100 marks, the duration of the test will be 60 minutes. There will be no negative marking.

Reservation of Seats: The seats shall be reserved for the candidate who are origin of Gujarat and falling under the following categories, namely:-

  • Scheduled Caste: 7%
  • Scheduled Tribe: 15%
  • Socially and Educationally Backward Class (OBC/SEBC): 27%
  • Physically Challenged: 3%

A candidate seeking admission on reserved seat shall be required to produce a Certificate of Caste from which he originates.  Provided that a candidate belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Class shall be required to produce a certificate to the effect of non-inclusion in Creamy Layer in addition to the caste certificate. No caste certificate shall be valid unless it is duly stamped, signed and issued by the authority empowered by the government of Gujarat. If a candidate fails to submit the certificates as required under above mention rules within the stipulated time, his candidature shall be considered for admission under unreserved category.  The admission of a student of reserved category on a reserved seat shall be valid subject to the verification of caste certificate by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf. In case the caste certificate is found in valid on verification, he shall not have right to claim his admission on reserved seat and if he has been already granted admission, such admission shall be cancelled. After granting admission to all the students of reserved categories on reserved seats, the reserved category seats remaining vacant shall be transferred to the unreserved category seats.

NRI Seats:A limited number of seats will be offered through a separate channel called ‘direct admission of Foreign and NRI students (Non Resident Indians)’. In case, such candidates are not available, the vacant seats will be allotted to the interested candidates coming through entrance test on merit basis with equivalent NRI fee structure.

Semester Tuition fee: Rs.50, 000/- per semester + Other University fees

Semester Tuition Fees for NRI candidates: Rs.1, 00,000/- or equivalent US $ (excluding bank charges) + Other University fees.

Semester Tuition Fees in case of vacant NRI seats: Rs. 1, 00,000/- or equivalent to US $ + Other University fees.

3. M.Sc. Forensic Psychology 30 (+5 NRI) 2 Years (4 Semesters)
4. M.Sc. Neuropsychology 30 (+5 NRI) 2 Years (4 Semesters)

B.A./ B.Sc. degree in Psychology or Science subjects from recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST category, minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates who are appearing for their final exams are also admissible provisionally under the condition that he or she would successfully graduate with a minimum aggregate of 55% pass marks in their final exams.
